The main chapter for this topic is “Jung’s Analysis of 20,000 Dreams,” however as tagging is allowed only in posts, this should refer you there. As discussed, this claim of Jung was quite a wild assed [sic] claim to make. Over perhaps 20 years, I’ve perhaps written down a thousand or so, and of those only a few hundred are worth a second glance. I’ve analyzed most of them, but they are in essence very private, and I debate if they’re worth sharing. I defer doing this, as it’s more important to note the following. Sleep as long as possible, forgoing an alarm clock or choosing a less invasive alarm, such as quiet music. Refer also to the chapter “Remember Dreams Using “NIM” and MALA.” Keep that pen and notepad handy, and letting the alarm snooze out, lie in bed and recall the main components of the dream. Then, upon getting up, as quickly as you can, write notes on the main components, standing up, e.g. at a kitchen counter, to facilitate the writing, and if you are sufficiently grounded in the area between wakefulness and sleep, continue to write more detail. That’s it, now off to other things in life. In most cases, the dream may be interpreted based on events of the prior day, or anticipation of the present day. There is no need to put extraneous meaning on the dreams. As in all science, parsimony rules, that the simplest explanation suffices.
